Does anyone get excited over Windows announcements?

Surely we have seen Microsoft's output be consistently the shittest of the shit for 40+ years now so there's no need to expect anything good even if the announcement sounds okay.

NEW! We have made the start menu take an extra 5 minutes to open because it's downloading scam ads for downloadable RAM and psychic diet plans.

PLUS! 2 icons in the menu will still be from the DOS era and out of alignment by 3 pixels.

Tell people still running Windows that they can fix the problem by installing another OS and watch the excuses fly.

@paul I am suspicious because I have read somewhere that they planned to stop at 10, emulating a rolling release. Either I have read something inaccurate or they suddenly changed their minds.

@peter I reckon they were going to go all in on ad revenue to keep the money coming in on the rolling release, but have decided against it due to how toxic it is to the brand

@paul by toxic I can understand something along the lines of "you are not releasing a new version every year like the fruit and the searchbar do, therefore you suck"

Is that what you meant?

@peter I just meant people don’t like having ads pop up in their operating system so Microsoft’s plan of funding the OS through ads in the start menu etc is no longer the way forward for them
