Serious question:

How important is for folks to get tests executed (and passing) when integrating their project into a #linux distribution? #opensource

like, I've been building some #GNOME projects but get tests failures while doing so, but looking at other distros (e.g: Fedora), they don't integrate running tests as part of their package builds.

I'll tell you about my brief experience with Guix:

tests are deemed important, but it is acknowledged that sometimes they fail for spurious reasons

If you exclude the tests in a package you contribute, you'll be asked why and your reasons for excluding them will be considered
